New at the Department: Teresa Fankhänel
Teresa Fankhänel is an architecture curator and editor-in-chief of the Architectural Exhibition Review. She holds an M.A. in architectural history from the Bartlett School of Architecture and a PhD from the University of Zurich. Before joining KIT in 2024, she was an associate curator at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University.
Among her research interests are the use of technology and media for the design and representation of architecture, and the history, theory and practice of architecture exhibitions. Her writing often focuses on model making, computation and born-digital design, archival strategies, the practice and theory of exhibition making, and the history and theory of architectural design practices. She has taught architectural history and curatorial practices at TU München, Hochschule München and TU Darmstadt, and has been a visiting critic at the Taubman School of Architecture, the Cooper Union, TU München and FH Dortmund.
