Prof. i.V. Gian TrachslerLinda Suter

Gian Trachsler was born in Zurich in 1986 and grew up near Zurich. After completing his Matura at the Liceo Artistico, he studied architecture at ETH Zurich, where he later worked as an assistant to Prof. Andrea Deplazes. In addition to his main professional work, he served on the board of the Kalkbreite Cooperative in Zurich.
In 2016, Gian Trachsler, together with Daniel Hoffmann, founded the studio Trachsler Hoffmann, which now has around 30 employees. The architectural firm is dedicated to the planning and design of construction projects of various scales in Basel and Zurich. The focus of Studio Trachsler Hoffmann's work is on urban residential construction and the associated exploration of the city as a living space.

"We are particularly interested in the search for new approaches in residential construction, whether through the transformation of existing structures or in the typological and spatial response to the diverse forms of living together.”
